Alyssa and Brett | Intimate Wedding on Family Acreage near Carberry | Westman Wedding Photographer

Alyssa and Brett’s wedding on her parent’s acreage near Carberry this weekend was one I won’t soon forget. This intimate family wedding was filled with love, laughter and beautiful moments to remember. The ceremony was short and sweet where families laughed, mingled and congratulated the couple on this happy occasion.

Alyssa and Brett met volunteering at the animal shelter. Their love for animals was evident as their dog, Auto, was standing up with them to celebrate this special day.

Alyssa and Brett define fun-loving (many references of loving each other through zombie apocalypse in their vows), relaxed fun, and down-to-earth couple in love and this is everything I hope for when I photograph couples. I wish for laughter, and joy, wedding sessions outdoors, and beautiful brides with big hearts for the people in their lives.

The day started among the trees in the shade on Alyssa’s parents’ acreage. The shade was definitely needed as it was 30 degrees on Saturday. There was a gentle little breeze, birdsong all around and tubs with water for all guests. The ceremony was nestled in a small clearing among idyllic trees with rustic touches like wood signs, mason jars filled with baby’s breathe and a magnificent wooden pergola as the backdrop.

All in all, it was truly a perfect day and the threat of a thunderstorm held off until later. I am honoured to document Alyssa and Brett’s love and happy occasion surrounded with close friends and family.

Alyssa and Brett, I am beyond happy that I got to be there to witness the beginning of your next big adventure. I hope this new adventure together gets better each and every day. Your joy is contagious and I absolutely loved being surrounded by it on your wedding day. Cheers to many more decades of love and happiness.
